Shai + Francesca

On a hilltop overlooking the North Shore mountains, this tiny short and sweet wedding was perfection in every way.  The big celebration will be held in Israel over the summer, but this intimate circle of family and friends held in our West Coast rainforest surrounded by lush thundering mountains boasts its own beauty.  Francesca is one of three sisters to my good friend Kristina whom I have become closer with over the last year.  It is always a treat and an honour to meet the extended family of my friends, to see their roots and their family dynamic which ultimately helped mould them into the person you love so much today.  Tiny weddings are my thing and this couldn't have been more perfect!

Congratulations Shai + Francesca!

Family Feels

A large part of my job satisfaction is from my need to connect with others.  The majority of people I get to photograph are friends, acquatinaces or friends of friends, or families of friends.  I connected with Shanti through the sister of a fellow Emily Carr grad whom I haven't seen since graduation, but have kept in touch through social media.  I love to photograph families in their natural habitat, it's all about capturing their true relationship with one another, finding those moments of connection and bonding.  The years fly by and it is a gift to be able to look back and see our old selves and measure our growth, to recognize the familiar bond between siblings and nod at how nothing has changed or perhaps nudges us to give them a call and reconnect.

A few from my latest family session...

Wallis Evera Spring 2017

I had such a ball creating these images with Isabella (model) and Monique of Wallis Evera for her 2017 Spring Collection.  The bright sunny yellow was so playful and yet maintained a flexibility working with both the conservative styles and the more free spirited styles.  I absolutely thrilled and with the way these images turned out!

Art Club 2017 Wrap Up!

I can't tell you how crazy it is to direct these classes and try to get some good shots at the same time!  I managed to get a few here and there, mostly the second week when I was feeling a little more comfortable and in my groove.  Will try to create a larger gallery under our Art Club section, but in the meantime, here are some snippets from Art Club 2017!

A massive thank you to everyone who participated and my sincerest apologies to those I had to turn away for lack of space!  I am definitely planning to host more classes in the coming months including some for adults as well.  I am so thrilled with the amount of response I received this year and equally stoked on how all the projects turned out.  I love love love observing the unique perspectives and talents from young creatives and it is such a gift to see how proud they are of their work in the end.  Thank You to everyone!  I look forward to seeing your faces and many new ones with the warmer weather!
