A few favourite images from shooting with my cousin Nik of chappalschappals. Working together, we created a collection of images for her newly launched website for her leather sandals or "chappals" imported from India. As a an avid traveller, Nik is constantly mapping out her next destination. Always on her feet, always seeking adventure, but never compromising style, these chappals have been her best friend when exploring new territory. Check out the goods at chappalschappals.com
Maxwell's New Showroom
Certainly the greatest perk of this job is meeting so many new people, so many people in industries you know nothing about where you get the opportunity to widen that horizon and learn new things. The family here at Maxwell Fabrics is a very tight-knit group of really lovely and warm human beings. They recently moved into a new Showroom and I was called in through a friend to mingle and capture the celebration of their new space.
Three Generations and going strong
Flaxsleep
Gosh. I just love collaborating with Boss Ass Bitches. There are so many of you and when I receive requests to work with/for/under you, the erupting chorus of Angels is music to my soul. Flaxsleep is a new Vancouver-based Linen Bedding company and the baby to a trio of smart, creative, talented, and fun-loving women: Anna, whom I met last year at Sarah's Birthday Retreat, and her partners Oana and Vivian. I've kept in touch with Anna as I fell hard for her awesome style, her intense level of crafting and equally intense level of rapping skills. Oh, and the one that took me down the Indigo path. When I heard about this Linen Bedding baby-in-the-making, I was absolutely thrilled!
We gathered together on a very hot afternoon in Mount Pleasant, rearranging Viv's apartment for some product shots as well as styled images for their site and social media. Before arriving, I knew would fall in love with their sheets, it would just be a matter of which one would I be taking home with me....?
A few faves.

Fête Carnival 2018
It's the time of year again! Pumping out a little more time and energy into making our Carnival Fundraiser a success. This year we donated photobooth as well as built the clown game, the latter which was as popular as I had hoped it would be! Tonnes of games, BBQ and Coffee, Book Sale, Silent Auction, Cake Walk, and running around on a gorgeous sunny evening with all your friends. I miss and loved these school events as a kid, running around high on candy and winning handfuls of little prizes, totally some of my favourite memories.
Tracey Ayton: Lilac Junkie
Remember that game "Never have I ever..."
I never would have ever imagined I'd be hanging out with this funny bird, at least based on the clean styled vignettes that make up her Instagram feed. But she messaged me one day after following me for a few weeks, months after I had started creeping on her, wondering where in Tsawwassen she was living. I came over and we sat in her backyard chatting for 3 hours before I needed to return to normal life.
And it's been happily ever after, ever since.
After another long painful Winter, life did return to the West Coast and with it, an abundance of lilacs spring up all over the neighbourhoods. Tracey called me up for a photoshoot to celebrate the life of a grand violet tree that had been growing down in Boundary Bay, soon to be ripped out of the property that was to be renovated.
It was well celebrated.
Always on the gram. Ha!
