Camping 2016

We went camping for the first time with all 5 of us!  The last time we went camping was 3 years ago and the first time we went with the older kids for a wedding in Pemberton.  This trip was just a short two-night trip to test the waters/sanity.  We had a blast.  We all needed that tiny little get-away.  It was perfect.  We stayed the first night in Princeton and the second night at Otter Lake in Tulameen.  There are too many photos to share for a blogpost, so here is the link to the gallery.

Hope everyone is having a terrific summer!

Family Sunset with The Toigos

These Tsawwassen sunsets are killer and make for some delicious memories.  Headed out to The Bluff side of our little town to capture a sweet little family session with The Toigo family.  Little Jack stayed up past his bed time to practice his legs on the rocky shore and to get some quality time with his Mom and Dad before the arrival of number two, due to arrive next Spring!

A few favourites from this beautiful evening...

Family Bike Rides

Finally getting a bike for my birthday this year has changed everything!   Family bike rides have filled many of our summer evenings, bringing more happiness than I could have imagined.  The simple things.  They are so good.  One of the top things on my bucket list for this summer was to ride the dike to Centennial Beach.  CHECK!  It was easier and quicker than I had expected and we got to enjoy about an hour of warm shallow ocean water before heading back home again.  We made our second attempt the other night but ended up detouring to a new little spot along the way.  I'm so glad I brought my camera with me for this beautiful evening.  These are evenings I definitely never want to forget.

Summer, you have gone by too too fast this year

Sunflower Madness

DRUMROLL PLEASE!!!  I'm so excited to announce my girl Emily is officially selling her homegrown veggies and florals, all which have been an intensive labour of love!  After recently setting up at a few of the local markets, she pitched her stand up at home to take part in Experience Delta's Culinary Farm Tour.  She collaborated with One20 Public House for a true Farm to Table experience for all those coming through.  Chef Michael Ferreira created a vegan taco, exclusively using the vegetables grown from the farm which included standouts of a guacamole alternative using minted mashed peas and deliciously crispy garlic chips.  In addition to her produce and floral stand and the delicious tacos, her two giant rows of sunflowers were open to the public for picking!

Come out this weekend for a break from the city, pick up some fresh produce, grab a bouquet of fragrant sweet peas and bring home as many giant sunflowers as you can carry!  Feel free to bring a blanket and some snacks for a cozy picnic, there will be a lemonade stand set-up to wet your whistle!

Located just outside the tunnel between the 2 giant willow trees!

Hope to see you this weekend!
