Kea's Floral Birthday Party at Celsia Florist

What can I say other than what a beautiful way to celebrate a birthday with close friends.  Kea, evidently has the best ideas for things to do for birthdays as last year's Lawn Bowling party was a total hit with everyone dressed in white and a fantastic spread of goodies.  This year's celebration started out with a smaller group attending a Bouqet Workshop at Celsia Floral before joining a larger group for dinner at Botanist. Champagne was poured and cheers were shared as guests arrived. We slowly shifted over to the demonstration area, ooh-ing and aah-ing over the tips and tricks throughout the instruction, and then back over to the Workshop area to create.  As with all things creative, everyone's bouquet was unique piece of self-expression!

Feeling very much inspired to give it a go with the knowledge I picked up, especially as floral arrangements have always been a mystery to me.

Happy Birthday Kea!

Tracey Ayton: Lilac Junkie

Remember that game "Never have I ever..."

I never would have ever imagined I'd be hanging out with this funny bird, at least based on the clean styled vignettes that make up her Instagram feed.  But she messaged me one day after following me for a few weeks, months after I had started creeping on her, wondering where in Tsawwassen she was living.  I came over and we sat in her backyard chatting for 3 hours before I needed to return to normal life.

And it's been happily ever after, ever since.

After another long painful Winter, life did return to the West Coast and with it, an abundance of lilacs spring up all over the neighbourhoods.  Tracey called me up for a photoshoot to celebrate the life of a grand violet tree that had been growing down in Boundary Bay, soon to be ripped out of the property that was to be renovated.

It was well celebrated.

Project Bloom 2015

It's hard to believe it's been a whole year since Project Bloom 2013!  This year I was in charge of hosting the Photobooth.  The backdrop was a collaboration between Our Little Flower Company and myself which turned out absolutely perfect!

A very well-behaved Little Malcolm joined me and the 150+ guests in the festivities.  Laughter, tears and delicious food were enjoyed by all!
